About the Event
Join us to attend the public Anderson County Election Commission meeting together. We’ll sit together, take notes, and help make local election oversight something the public actually participates in.
Anderson County elections are overseen by five Election Commissioners. Their meetings are public, and this is one of the clearest ways regular people can stay informed and engaged.
We’re making these meetings an anchor civic engagement event: show up, learn how decisions get made, and remind local government that elections belong to the public.
Who oversees elections in Anderson County (the 5 commissioners): D. Jane Miller (Chair), William “Bear” Stephenson (Secretary), William T. Gallaher, Marion Stanford, David Bradshaw
Day-to-day administration runs through the Administrator of Elections: Mark Stephens.
Why we’re watching (every time): The Anderson County Commission issued a rare vote of no confidence in the Administrator of Elections (a big deal in local government).
