About the Event

Dr. Conley’s work focuses on Latinx migration, immigration, and applied sociology. In addition to being a lecturer in the Department of Sociology, Dr. Conley is Director of Community Partnerships. She is also a founding member of Allies of Knoxville’s Immigrant Neighbors (AKIN).

Dr. Conley is the author of Immigration Rights in the Nuevo South: Enforcement and Resistance at the Borderlands of Illegality. She has co-authored several books and several articles on Immigration; nativism; white supremacy; police and ICE and police interoperability; and unequal protection and racial disparities.

Did you want to know the status of immigration in Tennessee; the co-operational role that ICE has (and seeks to get) with local law enforcement; the state laws, including the denial of education to K-12 students, that are proliferating and why; the tragedies across our nation with ICE enforcement? Join us for a thought provoking presentation.
