The $2 Billion Unregulated Pregnancy Clinic Industry: Following the Money Behind UPC Expansion

I wanted to highlight a fantastic learning opportunity through the Public Health Leadership Institute on June 18 at 2:00pm EDT / 11:00am PDT. The session, “The $2 Billion Unregulated Pregnancy Clinic Industry: Following the Money Behind UPC Expansion,” will explore how taxpayer funding flows to the unregulated pregnancy clinic (UPC) industry and policy responses for transparency and accountability.

Presenters include:

• Reproductive Health and Freedom Watch, who will present their new analysis of FY2024 UPC financial data and 2026 state taxpayer appropriations

• Madi Weisberg and Elizabeth Jones from NFPRHA, to discuss the proposed changes to Title X funding and the growing possibility of federal UPC funding nationwide.

• North Carolina Rep. Julie Von Haefen (NC House 36), who will share her experience introducing a UPC financial transparency bill last month.
